WHAT IS WIC?
WIC is a nutrition program that helps pregnant women, new mothers, and young children eat well, learn about nutrition, and stay healthy.
What does WIC provide?
Nutritious foods
Information about food and nutrition
Breastfeeding information and support
Diet assessments
Height and weight assessments
Iron screenings
Information about other community resources
Who is eligible for WIC?
WIC serves pregnant women, breastfeeding women, postpartum women, infants, and children up to the age of five.
To qualify, participants must meet the income guidelines and have a nutritional need.
This is determined at your local WIC office.

You will be asked to bring the following to your appointment:
Proof of identification for person being enrolled, for example:
- WIC ID
- Birth certificate, hospital record, or crib card
- Photo I.D. (school card, county ID , drivers license, passport , military ID)
Proof of identity for the parent, guardian, or proxy
- Same as above
Proof of current entire household income, for example:
- Current pay, for past four weeks or proof of unemployment
- Current notice of decision letter (food stamps or medicaid)
Proof of child support
Proof of current residence, for example:
- Current bill
- Rent receipt or lease with address included
- Any document with your name and current address
- Child/children's immunization records
Proof of pregnancy
If you will need language or sign language interpreter or other accommodation please let WIC staff know in advance.
AT THE END OF YOUR APPOINTMENT….
If you qualify, you will be given WIC checks for nutritious foods. You will be given a list of grocery stores where you can cash your checks for WIC approved foods, and a list of WIC approved foods for your information.
Once enrolled,
Infants can receive WIC through their first year. (Then they can re-enrolled at one year as children)
