| Program Description | ||||||
| Central New York Services provides a comprehensive forensic mental health program within the 600 bed Oneida County Correctional Facility. The ten staff members who service the facility include a Program Director, Intake Coordinator, two Counselors, Dual Recovery Counselor, two Discharge Planners, an Office Manager, and a part time psychiatrist and nurse practitioner.
All inmates are screened within 72 hours of admission. Inmates are assigned to housing units according to their needs and classification. Those who require ongoing mental health services are assigned to appropriate units by the forensic mental health and medical staff. Discharge planning begins at the time of admission. This program gives inmates with mental health problems every opportunity to become successful members of the community when their incarceration ends. |
