The 2008-2012 Transportation Improvement Program (TIP)  is a staged multi-year program of transportation improvements within the Herkimer-Oneida Counties region.  
The purpose of this document, which is updated biennially, is to identify transportation projects and to begin the process of implementation.  Projects that must be on the TIP include highway, bridge, transit (capital and operating) , bikeway and pedestrian improvements within the urbanized area that involve the expenditure of Federal Highway Administration (FHWA) and/or Federal Transit Administration (FTA) funds.  Rural area projects and other transportation projects not funded through the FHWA or FTA are also included in the TIP for informational purposes.
